Can I tax my vehicle at a Post Office counter using a V62 application?

Hello! Paper applications can take a bit longer if the DVLA is experiencing a backlog or needs to verify vehicle details. You can review the guidelines on v62 form online to see the standard processing windows and exceptions. Normally, standard replacements take 2 to 4 weeks, but if the DVLA had to write to the previously registered keeper for security checks, it can take up to 6 weeks. If it has been four full weeks, it's worth giving their vehicle enquiries team a quick call with your Post Office receipt details.

Thanks for explaining the security check process! I didn't realize they might need to contact the registered keeper if anything on the form needed cross-referencing. I'll give it until the end of this week to hit the 5-week mark and then give the DVLA a call with my receipt number handy. Hopefully, the new logbook turns up in the post in the next couple of days!
